Most of my experience has been as a 4th grade bilingual teacher. However I have taught middle and high school global classrooms, worked as a 2nd grade bilingual interventionist and a 1st grade bilingual summer school teacher. This year I will be the Spanish Gifted and Talented Interventionist and lower elementary Spanish reading interventionist.
I am all about building relationships and finding ways to integrate culturally relevant teaching methods into the classroom. I like to give kids the space to create and the structure to be successful. I love learning from other teachers as well!
Teaching Excellence Teacher of the Year
I studied Spanish and Anthropology during undergrad at Gustavus Adolphus College before switching into teaching. After teaching for 3 years I went to Stanford for my Master's in Education Policy, Organization and Leadership Studies.
