I have been teaching in an early childhood setting since January of 2002. I taught Kindergarten for 7 years before taking a position out of the classroom as a master teacher with the TAP program where I worked with teachers and students in PreK through 2nd grade to help them better achieve their learning goals. I loved reaching that many students, but I missed having my own classroom so I moved to New Orleans and began teaching 1st grade. After 4 years in 1st grade, I was lucky enough to take a job teaching PreK! I LOVE IT!
I love to stay active in the classroom to keep up with my busy PreK kids. I plan my days with many state changes, hands-on activities, and chances to wiggle to best teach the very active children in PreK.
I could pull out my portfolio and list some things, but I'm not really sure how many of you would be interested.
BA in Elementary Education (PreK & K), Louisiana College - December 2001
I live in New Orleans with my dog, Rigby, and my fish, Blanket. When I am not teaching school I love to travel with my friends and go to festivals and live music.
