Flexible methods of teaching and learning. I incorporate a variety of media, including audio, video, tactile, etc. Because my school is a self-operating program (we are, however, nationally accredited), I am not necessarily restrained by the expectations of a larger district. My school receives students from approximately 60 different districts; we strive to use curriculum and activities students would use in their home schools so that they are prepared to return when appropriate. I am able to utilize techniques and materials that I think will best meet the needs of my students, from content presented to the ways students will demonstrate understanding. Personal connection and sense of humor are critical in reaching my students, so that often comes through in the materials I use.
