I have taught in Catholic schools and in a charter school. I began my career as a Pre-K teacher, and taught this wonderful grade level for five years. I then taught Spanish for grades Pre-K – 8th for one year. After that I became a self-contained teacher (even teaching art and religion) for 7th grade, then 8th, and then 6th. Finally, I found the charter school where I currently am, and became an ELA teacher. I had the privilege to loop with the same group of sixty students from 6th grade through 9th grade. Having taught different grades and subjects has given me the opportunity to create cross-curricular lessons that help students strengthen their understanding. This year I am the Curriculum Supervisor for the middle school campus of our charter school. The grades in our building are 4th-8th. I am enjoying working with the children and teachers in this new role.
I am a big fan of technology, but I also believe in creating foundational skills. Even in the upper grades I use stations a lot, as this allows students to practice different skills within a lesson, and also move around, which helps them stay focused.

I am trilingual (English, Spanish, and French), and am interested in learning another language. I love travelling, though I don’t do it often enough, but I’ve been to four of the seven continents and hope to visit at least two more (Antarctica is too cold!!).
