I have been teaching for 14 years. I spent the first half of my teaching career in Louisiana where I taught 7th and 8th grade math. I also taught 1st grade self contained. Upon moving to the great state of Texas, I became a 5th grade math and science teacher. I taught that grade for 2 years and then moved to 2nd grade which I taught for 3 years and now I am currently teaching 3rd grade math and science and loving every minute of it.
I love for students to have authentic experiences in their learning. It helps for them to retain what they have experience. I am a huge fan of notebooking and use them religiously in math and science. Students should also be able to work in cooperative groups and solidify their learning with hands on activities.
