I have taught 4th grade for the last 8 years, but recently looped up with my class to teach 5th grade! I have been so excited learning the new curriculum and teaching something different. It has been challenging at times, but fun! I especially love that I'm working with my same students from last year.
Teaching through the theory of multiple intelligences and with the brain in mine drive my instruction. I love for my kids to get involved in their learning and be active.
I had the awesome experience of having my classroom broadcasted on GPB in 2009...teaching math is my passion. I've also presented at our county's leadership summit on "The 8 Step Process--Backward Design".
I graduated high school from Northside High in Warner Robins, Georgia, received my Bachelors Degree in Middle Grades Education with my concentration in Math, Language Arts and Social Sciences from Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, Georgia, and received my Master Degree in Middle Grades Math and Sciencee from Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia.
I have four wonderful daughters, all between the ages of 10 and 13...they keep me on my toes. My husband is definitely outnumbered in our home! My family and love for children is what inspires me to make my teaching better each year.
