Amanda was in the classroom for several years as she taught both kindergarten and first grade. With a heart for the inner city, she has experience teaching both mainstream and two-way dual language. All of her teaching experience is with ELL students. She is passionate about all things balanced literacy and science. Amanda provides professional development, creates engaging teaching resources, and provides helpful teaching tips on her blog, Mrs. Richardson's Class.
My number one goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment for my students. I really enjoy creating activities that challenge my students and also help scaffold them as needed. My passion in teaching is reading. I could teach it all day and I would if that was allowed at a young age! :)

We also are new parents to our sweet baby boy! We are so smitten by him and are enjoying this journey through parenthood!!
