My passion, drive and inspiration come from the classroom. It is a fast paced, exciting and ever-changing place where teachers should be learning side by side with their students. I have been teaching and learning in 3-8th grade for the last thirteen years and can't see myself doing anything else, well besides creating resources for teachers.
I am an interactive teacher who loves using project based learning and simulations to teach math, science and social studies. I am a huge advocate for using reading and writing workshop methods to teach Language Arts. I also enjoy integrating art, music and drama into all subject areas.

I attended Western Washington University to obtain my undergraduate degree in English and my teaching license in secondary education. Later I obtained my elementary license, ELL and math endorsements. I've also attended the Teachers College Summer Institute in NYC and was trained by the leading think tank in writing workshop today.
I currently live in the Bay Area with my husband and four year old. We love the outdoors!
