I hold degrees in music, English literature, and education. I began teaching English in January 2014 in a Title I high school in Gastonia, NC. Since then, I have taught grades 9 through 12 at a variety of ability levels, AP English Language & Composition, creative writing, and desktop publishing. I am a founding member of my National Writing Project local site.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I currently teach 9th and 11th grade English courses. Writing is a major focus in all of my classes.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I grew up and attended school in Gastonia, North Carolina.I graduated from high school with honors in 2009 and attended Gardner-Webb University on academic scholarship, where I pursued degrees in K-12 music education and English literature. My student teaching was completed in a music education setting (middle school band) in my home county. After graduation in December of 2013, I accepted a job teaching English at a high school in the community where I grew up. I later moved to Greensboro, NC.
