For the past 20 years, I have had the privilege of teaching high school English Language Arts and Spanish I to students from all walks of life. I have worked in both the wealthiest and the poorest of school systems in Alabama, and I've learned valuable lessons from all of my experiences.
My teaching style is centered around building and fostering meaningful student/teacher/class relationships. I design and present lessons with today's high school student in mind, and work to make sure the relevancy and purpose of each activity can be clearly recognized. I enjoy using visually appealing print and media resources -- I want to make my students' learning experiences in my classroom enjoyable. :)
2003 School Wide Teacher of the Year; FACES Grant Winner (system wide, community funded competitive grant program); 2017 PTO Grant Recipient
I attended Auburn University and earned my Bachelor's Degree in English and Spanish Secondary Education in 1994. Two years later, I received my Master's Degree in Reading Education.
I love my teaching career; however, I love my job as a wife and mom even more! :) I have a very sweet husband and three amazing children. I'm so thankful for all of the blessings in my life!
