I have been a fifth grade science teacher for nine years, with a year of high school thrown in at the start! I am highly involved in curriculum development including but not limited to the creation of short cycle assessments, RTI programs, district wide 5-E lessons and a variety of other experiences. I work at a large district that is known for it's excellent schools. We are pushed each and every day to challenge our kids and our administrators expect results driven by data.
My style is real world science. My classroom runs on the idea that I am teaching students to use their knowledge to solve problems. I also am an advocate of teaching reading in the science classroom.
