TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Five years experience teaching high school and college English. My high school students are low-income, first generation college students at an early-college high school. At the college level, I primarily teach composition and literature.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in teaching that combines brief lecture with student-driven activities. I believe that lectures should be short, dynamic, and engaging in order to be successful, and that all handouts, activities, and assessments should allow students to take ownership of their work. I believe good teachers teach to the entire classroom by differentiating instruction and assessment.
