I have been teaching in a small, private school since my graduation from college in 2000. I teach in a combined grade 1/2 classroom with small class sizes, flexible curriculum, loads of technology and the freedom to teach my students what they truly yearn to learn. I have found the introduction of virtual field trips to make a huge impact, especially when studying historical locations and famous landmarks. Now, I want to share that with you!
I believe the students are the true compass in a classroom. I have set thematic units I cover each year, but the activities and literature is ever-changing to accommodate the interests of the current class. Integrating S.T.E.A.M. has become an integral part of my curriculum, as well.

Proud wife and mom of two wonderful children. Being their "teacher" has been the greatest gift of all. I treasure the real-life field trips we've taken and books we've read together, many of which have inspired the lessons and stories I later taught in school.
