In the past 20 years, I have taught a wide range of students. My first three years were spent teaching English in a secondary ED classroom. After that, I taught French and Language Arts 8 for two years before moving on up to AP English Language and Composition at the high school level. For the last 14 years, I have taught primarily English 11 and AP English Language and Composition and now am additionally teaching Dual Enrollment English 12. I also specialize in SOL Test Prep.
I am a "Relationships First" teacher. To me, the most important indicator of success for me as a teacher is whether I'm enjoying my students and my students are enjoying me. If the rapport isn't there, and the students don't feel that personal connection to me, they won't be successful.
