I have a bachelors degree in Nutrition which I've never used. I hold many certificates includes ones from Robbins-Madanes Coach Training and Active Parenting. Most importantly my education has been through parenting three children and my training and experience with Nonviolent Communication. I read popular parenting guides when my boys were young. Emotional upsets were rare and I did the best I could. When my daughter turned thirteen, however, the upsets were more intense and I had to step up my game as a parent. I sought out monthly training in Nonviolent Communication and was able to change my thinking, my words and the energy she absorbed. I credit this learning to our ability to dodge the bullet of disconnection that happens in so many parent/child relationships.
My mission since 2016 to create simple materials to share the of NVC. Nonviolent Communication is a practice and a set of principles which enhance human relationships. Elements of NVC are woven into the works of many current thinkers, researchers and writers. It is important for me to point specifically to NVC because it is also a worldwide community where learning can happen at any level. It is not just for those who can afford it. I wrote and illustrated a children's book and now I will continue to use these images to enhance classroom management by empowering students with the skill of self-awareness.
