I composed the songs in Short + Fun Spanish Beats for children to have fun while imitating and repeating words, phrases, and sounds in Spanish, as well as keeping them actively moving while singing to the beats of catchy and high-quality music.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I began composing and using my songs for my own Mommy and Me class / Storytime that I offered for a while at my personal studio (my home). During the last 3 years I have performed my songs in different types of sessions for kids (Preschools, Spanish Club k-3) , and lately I am adding them to the curriculum of a local music academy to teach music to children with a Spanish component.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

My name is Ana Calabrese, I am a native Spanish speaker from Colombia, helping children to spark the Spanish and connect with the language through singing, moving and having fun. When I first attempt to introduce Spanish to a group of children, the first challenge I faced was song selection. I decided then to start composing my own songs with the length, amount of vocabulary, and movement component that I wanted to make the class fun and interactive. These songs became my teaching tool to keep my two bilingual kids and my students engaged, as well as to offer them memorable and movement-filled learning experiences. I hope Short + Fun Spanish Beats album' songs will do the same for you, as you introduce your students to the second most widely spoken language in the world.
