I am entering my 4th year of teaching in the coastal city of Corpus Christi, Texas. While in college, I did my Field Base Experience in 4th grade and student taught in 2nd grade. I taught first grade my first year, then was moved to Kindergarten which I've been teaching ever since. I am currently a departmentalized teacher, so I teach math, science, and social studies while my departmentalization partner teaches the reading and language arts portion of the day. I love being departmentalized because it gives me the opportunity to give in-depth, quality instruction in my favorite subjects (plus it helps with the Kinder wiggles)!
I am definitely a hands-on teacher and I think that my students learn better kinesthetically. I love to incorporate stations & centers and I like to take the classroom outdoors whenever possible. Adventure is always out there! --"Not all who wander are lost."--
I attended and graduated with my Bachelor's Degree at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in 2013 and began my teaching career later that year.
I have learned so much within my beginning career of teaching, but I wouldn't have it any other way! My fellow coworkers and students teach me new things every single day! I can't wait to meet my new Kindergarten "crew" for the upcoming school year!
