TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This school year marks my 13th year in public school education! I was a high school life skills teacher and substitute for two years, 4th-6th grade learning support teacher for 6 years, and am currently in my 3rd year teaching middle school reading! Previous to that I was a group supervisor at a daycare, focusing on early childhood education. I love reading and I love watching my students evolve into great readers!

MY TEACHING STYLE

Although one could say I am a strict teacher, I love to laugh with my students and try to present material in a way that is both fun and interesting. My students do not need to feel the pressure of testing and changes in education. I want them to enjoy school and enjoy reading while they learn.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Nomination for Teacher Golden Apple Award, 2013-2014

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

University of Pittsburgh - B.A. 2000, M.Ed. and Teacher Certification: Special Education, 2001 Edinboro University - M.Ed. And Teacher Certification: Reading Specialist, 2009 California University of PA - Early Childhood Teaching Certification, 2011.
