TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for 25+ years. Most of my experience has been in Kindergarten. However, I did have a very successful year teaching 3rd Grade during the 2014-2015 school year. I have worked also worked as a reading remediation teacher, a 4/5 grade Dropout Prevention teacher, as well as a Fifth Grade Math/Science/ Social Studies teacher. *My blog, Bailey's Blackboard, will be coming soon!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe children learn best by being immersed in an environment where they are learning through a variety of methods. These methods include everything from hands-on activities, cooperative learning opportunities, and an environment filled with rich vocabulary. Reading entertaining stories as well as informational texts also helps to encourage a well-rounded student. I also feel that exposing/introducing children to ideas and concepts just beyond their developmental level is vitally important for stretching their learning capacity to beyond "average."
