I've been teaching middle school students since 2002. I have experience in urban areas with high poverty and suburban schools with more modest incomes. I've even had the opportunity to work and study in Hyderabad, India for a month. Along the way I've picked up two master's degrees, one in Global Studies and the other in Mathematics.
I believe that if kids aren't listening to you, they aren't learning. I work very hard to hold their attention by combining, humor, anecdotes, and high energy to make my classroom a safe, entertaining, yet highly academic environment.
