TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been teaching for 13 years. I've taught 3rd grade for 5 years, 1st grade for a year, and am now on my 7th year teaching 2nd grade. I absolutely LOVE 2nd grade and think that they are the BEST!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe all children can learn with the right tools. There is not one tool that I can use from my box that will reach all learners. I love using a variety of strategies to see which ones will stick for each student. I also love creating chants, songs, raps, and getting our body moving in order to learn skills.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I've taught district inservices on writing and have also been a guest teacher several times at Azusa Pacific University. My chants and songs for learning standards are used throughout schools in our district.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a Liberal Studies degree with an emphasis on teaching. I received my credential and graduate degree at Azusa Pacific University with a Masters in Education with an emphasis on Teaching.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am a pastor's wife and a part time teacher. I job share in second grade so that I can spend some time with my little ones. I have 2 boys (8yrs, 6yrs) and 1 girl (2yrs) that are growing up so fast! Although I love my job, these precious ones at home are my favorite students!
