TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I'm in my 12th year of teaching secondary English/Language Arts. My main area of experience is in 10th/11th grade College Prep English and 12th grade English.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I teach in many different ways. It all depends on the students, the situation, and the forum. I believe teachers must continually adjust their curriculum to fit the individual needs of each student.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

One of my greatest personal accomplishments was helping my school to bring the percentage of students reading at or above grade level from 66% to over 80% in one year using a specialized curriculum I designed and implemented.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Grand Canyon University- Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction: Reading. Western Oregon University- Oregon State Initial Teaching Licensure (High School Authorization Level with a Content Area Endorsement in Language Arts). Portland State University- Bachelor of Science in Psychology.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I enjoy traveling around the United States with my husband and gleaning new teaching ideas from our experiences!
