TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching since 2008 in a large urban public elementary school. I provided K-5 special education resource and cross-categorical services for the first seven years and then transitioned to teaching third grade general ed. for one year. I am now happily teaching a Kindergarten/ first grade split class now and LOVE it!

MY TEACHING STYLE

Very hands-on interaction with curriculum implementing differentiated instruction whenever feasible.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and subsequently spent 13 years as a child abuse/neglect social worker and supervisor, wherein I worked with several teachers and school districts to secure FAPE for children in foster care. They and the children in foster care that I worked with inspired me to return to graduate school and obtain a Master's Degree in Special Education and four teaching certificates ranging from Early Childhood to 12th grade, general education and special education.
