I am a recent graduate of the University of South Florida in English, Literary Studies, and World Languages, Latin & Greek. I have been teaching and working with students for many years in both academic and extracurricular settings, including ACT and SAT test prep, reading, writing, and teaching violin. I used my undergraduate thesis to design a study guide for Lewis Carroll's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland," one of the my favorite books.
My approach for teaching revolves around in-depth, analytical thinking. I design my lesson plans to be discussion-heavy to encourage students to derive answers and conclusions based off their own observations. I grew up as a Catholic homeschooler, and I include Christian/spiritual elements and references in my study guides in order to remain true to the purpose of the works and the intent of the authors. Overall, my ultimate goal for these guides is that students are able to cultivate a habit of self-dependency when it comes to reading, understanding, and interpreting literature.
