I've taught 1 semester each of 4th and 6th grade in an urban Indianapolis school district. From there I moved to a charter school in South Bend, IN where I taught 5th grade for two years. I am currently in my first year of teaching 9th grade English in a small town south of Fort Wayne, IN.
Student-driven learning works best in my classroom. Alot of my thinking, creating, and working take place outside of the classroom. Much of my time in the classroom is used facilitating activities and monitoring from group to group or individual to individual. I incorporate a lot of group work in class as I feel students need to be prepared to collaborate for any job they hold in the future.
