I have been teaching in the Early Childhood Field for 10 years. Working primarily with children who are aged 4-5 (Prekindergarten), but also have educated preschool aged (3-4) and toddlers while working in a early childhood center environment. I did my student teaching in a first grade for general education and kindergarten, first, and second grade for special education.
I like to think of my teaching style a little bit like Mary Poppins. I believe in having a schedule that is predictable and rules so that children can learn and play safely. I also believe that all learning should have an element of fun ("Find that fun and, snap, the job's a game!"). I typically use an emergent curriculum in my classroom, including lessons that I believe are important topics to be covered.
I hold a early childhood certification for the State of NH and am back in school earning my masters degree in elementary education.
I completed high school at Central High School in Manchester, NH and went on to achieve a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education/Special Education/Human Development from what was Rivier College, now University.
I was born and lived in England. My father met my mother while serving in the USAF. We moved here when I was in the 4th grade. I lost my accent quickly (wish I hadn't now!)! I live in NH with my husband, Luke, two girls Raegan and Jillian (aged 4 years and 14 months), and our black lab mix rescue dog, Bella.
