TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught in a STEM/STEAM setting for four years. I have taught English Language Arts and Social Studies.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I utilize the Problem/Project Based Learning style in my classroom. All of my activities have various assessments, most of which involve projects and creating objects that apply the concepts taught.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have been STEAM certified through Clemson University. I was a NC Teaching Fellow.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from the University of NC at Charlotte in 2011 with a Bachelors of Arts in Middle Grades Education. I obtained concentrations in Social Studies and English. I also obtained a minor in History. I have since received training in STEM education, STEAM education and PBL.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I teach at the first STEAM school in the state of South Carolina. I love teaching using the PBL method and enjoy watching the students take ownership of their own work!! I integrate all content and curriculum in my lessons and love collaborating.
