TEACHING EXPERIENCE

13 years of 9-12th grade English teaching experience, including Advanced Placement and Honors programs. Classes taught include AP English Literature, Creative Writing, World Literature, Shakespearean Literature, British Literature, Modern American Literature, History of Drama, and 9th and 10th grade English. I recently formed a Writing Center at my school and serve as its coordinator.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in transparency and honesty. I teach with integrity and try to make each moment in the classroom count. I don't believe in busy work and assign work that is genuinely useful for students in the future. I particularly like quote-driven literary analysis and differentiated learning activities.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I teach English full time and am the department head of the English department of my school. I have always preferred creating my own teaching materials and after finding success in teaching I wanted to share some of my resources I've made. Also, I am a mother of two boys and one girl, all under six years old. Obviously, I like to keep busy! Follow me on Pinterest and follow my blog! You can also find me on Instagram at aplitandmore!
