I began my career in education by teaching college writing courses at a local community college. At the K-12 level, I have taught or am currently teaching English CP, ELD, Biology CP, Biology CP for Artists, Environmental Science, Earth Science, Environmental Science AP, and Biology AP.
My earliest K-12 teaching experiences were in schools with a high English language learner population. This taught me valuable skills in making complex topics easily comprehensible to all students. Since science is rife with unfamiliar terminology and concepts difficult to explain concretely, I have spent hours strategizing on the best ways to make material as interactive and accessible as possible.
