I have ten years of classroom experience as an English teacher in grades 7-12. I am dual-certified with the state of New Jersey in English and Special Education with a Master's Degree in Teaching from the State University of New York. All the lessons and resources I offer are personally developed and classroom tested.
My lessons tend to be student-centered, differentiated, and high interest. All lessons are compatible with Common Core state requirements.
Dean's List, English Honor Society, Teacher of the Month
I received a Bachelor's Degree in English and a Master's Degree in Teaching from the State University of New York. Professionally, I taught 7th and 8th grade middle school English for three years and 9th, 10th, and 12th grade high school English for four years. In addition, I spent three years in the classroom as a professional reading and writing tutor for high school students. My teaching experiences ranged from low-income rural schools to low-income urban schools to middle-income suburban schools. Most of my teaching experience has been with high-risk, low-achieving students.
As a teacher, I have also served as the chair of the thematic unit planning committee for cross-curricular projects. I studied project-based learning with the Buck Institute of Education in addition to my university education.
