I've taught four years of 1st grade at a Title I school. This fall I start a new adventure in 4th grade, teaching reading and writing. Teaching runs in my family and working with kids has been my every job since I was a teen!
Relevant. Engaging. Tactile. I feel strongly that teachers should make character education a priority because, like Theodore Roosevelt says,"To educate a man in mind and not in morals is to educate a menace to society."

I hold a BA in English from Ouachita Baptist University and am certified to teach EC-6.
A few random facts: 1. My mother used to ground me from reading instead of watching TV. 2. On one silly, carefree afternoon as a teenager I formed a special bond with my younger sister over penguins. We are now obsessed and the first thing most people remember about us is that we love penguins. 3. There are 8 teachers in my family, including my grandma who taught for 42 years.
