TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Intermediate Art Teacher 2006-present Summer Art Class Teacher 2007-present Art Camp Instructor / Director 2000-2007

MY TEACHING STYLE

Philosophy of Education: "Every child is born an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist when they grow up." -Pablo Picasso I believe every child has the capacity to learn how to express themselves through art. It is my job to ensure they have the opportunity to learn the skills, media, history, and multiculturalism to inspire and motivate them. I approach teaching like a gardener; I nurture my students so they can grow and flourish on their own. I try to find a way for each student to take pride and express their own interests in their artwork. My hope is that when our students leave my class they will continue to be excited to create and learn about art.
