I have experience teaching visual art in k-12. I worked with studens K-8 at an a school specially designed for gifted learners for over 3 years. I also have experience homeschooling my own daughter who is in the 3rd grade.
I like to have a very open and creative classroom. I enjoy teaching in a way that the students guide their learning and exploration with my direction. The students get to create and explore different forms of art, and gain a better understanding through the utilization of discipline based art education (DBAE). DBAE goes over the aesthetics of art, the history, the production, and art criticism. With these aspects students are able to better understand art and express themselves in a variety of mediums and processes.
