TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Serving as a volunteer art docent was my lead in to becoming my school's Professional Expert in Visual Arts. I taught weekly K-5 classes and conducted an after-school Art Enrichment program as well for over ten years, before leaving to pursue my online art website business at Art Projects for Kids.org

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love to find projects and materials that bring out the best in children’s art. Finding how to overlap school curriculum and art history as much as possible is my passion.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

My published book "Sharpie Workshop for Kids" is available on Amazon.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I first earned my B.F.A. at Minneapolis College of Arts and Design, and then enjoyed a 20-year career in graphic design. When my son entered kindergarten, my career path took a turn. Our local elementary school had no art program and that was all the inspiration I needed to take up a new cause. Volunteering led to a paid art teacher position, which eventually led to blogging full time.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
