TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I served as a volunteer art docent for several years before becoming the school's Professional Expert in Visual Arts. I now teach twenty K-5 classes weekly in Sherman Oaks, CA and also conduct an after-school Art Enrichment program.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love to find projects and materials that bring out the best in children’s art. Making them overlap school curriculum and art history as much as possible is a passion of mine.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

In 2012, I was very proud to have the art from six of my students chosen for the redesign of the Strathmore Youth Product line.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I first earned my B.F.A. at Minneapolis College of Arts and Design, and then enjoyed a 20-year career in graphic design. When my son entered kindergarten, my career path took a turn. Our local elementary school had no art program and that was all the inspiration I needed to take up a new cause.
