TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I spent six years teaching elementary art before moving up to the high school in 2014. I've also taught child and adult private art lessons.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Any good art lesson has to capture your students' attention! I like to use technology in the classroom to enhance the learning experience. If I find the lesson boring, I know my students do too... so I try to teach in a way that encourages learning, laughter, and the creative process!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

2012 received a foundation grant for "Black Light Painting"

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelors Degree in Art Education in 2008 Masters Degree in Art Education in 2011 Reading Endorsement in 2012

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I've always though of myself as a teacher first, then an artist. I enjoy painting on my own but I find myself spending more of my free time researching new and creative lessons for my classroom. I hope to make my life and the lives of others a little easier through sharing my lessons. Who couldn't use a little more time spent with friends or family to reboot for the work week?
