I love to see children enjoying art. Every lesson does three things: introduces art history concepts, provides physical movement for the children, and deepens the meaning of the art projects by learning about cultural contexts.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have a teaching license for Art K-12, and have experience teaching every grade level. I have worked with grades K-4 at an alternative learning school, but spent the most years teaching Middle School Art. I have opened my own business, "Art Time for Kids," which offers art activities and classes for children ages 2-10.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Touch, Feel, Move. Don't stay still too long... I learned from the young children that they remember the most by moving. I am a very organized and structured teacher, so I plan very carefully how a large group of small children will move and exercise. Obstacle courses, bean bag tosses, and play-acting games deepen the learning of an art history concept. These lessons can span a large range of ages, also, because two year olds will learn and move and make art, and older children will also enjoy and learn at a different level.
