I personally researched, wrote, and designed this unit-style art history curriculum because I had such a hard time finding any middle school / high school level work that was on a more serious level which included homework, tests, and assignments, etc. Don't get me wrong - I wanted my students to have fun in the classroom but I also wanted them to walk away with a little bit of learning as well.
This is designed as a suggested one month unit study art history curriculum. It can be used for a classroom or for a single student. These are the basic outlines of a plan. They can be simplified or made more extravagant depending upon your needs. (Art supplies are not included.) The plans revolve around the single artist chosen - they Include a Power Point, co-coordinating student worksheet, weekly art project lesson plans, homework assignments, art vocabulary, artist test, rubric for student binder, and all answer keys.
My students LOVED these!
I taught art for 10 years to all grade levels - elementary, middle, and high school. I sincerely loved all my kids!
These unit studies are really easy to use. They spark ideas, help the students remember their facts, and then they begin recognizing the world of art around them!
