TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Education and professional growth have been a passion of mine since I was inspired as a student through my own education and it is my career objective to lead teaching and learning in a way that inspires not only students but my colleagues and the community. I have worked as both an early childhood and early primary school educator and had opportunities to lead professional learning through senior school management roles.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching philosophy is to see all students learning from their point of need with consistent high expectations of achievement and success, with communication based on mutual respect and the development of professional relationships. Student engagement is a key to learning and I am constantly looking for new ways to engage my students. I find teaching differentiated groupings supports individual learning outcomes.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have been nominated for the Young Australian of the Year award for Education (2014) and I have been nominated for a Best Teacher Award through the OfficeMax Teacher Recognition program in 2012.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have been an ECE and Primary school teacher for almost seven years. I have enjoyed working in many leadership roles including an acting Assistant Principal role and Advanced Skills Teacher role.

I am passionate about education and quality teaching resources. I have two other passions- one is visual arts and the other is wildlife. I'm a trained and experienced wildlife carer and thoroughly enjoy helping animals (and humans) in need.
