I began my teaching career February 1, 2006 when a teacher retired mid-school year. Luckily, I had just finished student teaching at this school December 2005, so I was familiar with the staff and students. I was hired to finish out the year in a 2nd grade classroom, but I have taught 1st grade ever since and I LOVE IT!!!
I'm structured, but laid back (if that makes sense)! I love teaching in the outdoors and I take my class outside to learn as much as possible. I wholeheartedly believe that children learn better while outside :)

I received my bachelors of science in Elementary Education from Western Kentucky University in December 2005 where I graduated Magna Cum Laude. I also obtained my Rank II 5th year with an endorsement in Environmental Education from Murray State University in August 2010.
After 6 years of dating I married my high school sweetheart, Tim, May 20, 2006. 2 years later our daughter, Rylee, came along and has blessed us in so many ways. Rylee was diagnosed with classic autism at 28 months and has taught us so much! We were also blessed with our son, Ian, who was born October 2011. He sure keeps us on our toes, but he adores his big sis and loves her unconditionally. I love my family more than anything!
