I started my teaching career in 5th grade teaching Communication Arts. After my first year of teaching, our 5th grade became self contained classrooms and I taught all subjects for two years. Then I had the opportunity to move to 3rd grade. I was extremely excited to work with a younger group of students and use what I knew was important in the 5th grade to push in 3rd grade. I am currently finishing my third year in 3rd grade. A new opportunity was presented to me when a fellow Kindergarten teacher decided to retire. So, this fall I will be starting my first year teaching Kindergarten. Although change is always hard..it is necessary in this profession. :)
I like to teach reading in small guided reading groups. I love the opportunity to work very closely with a small group and really track their group. :)
Yet to be added
I completed my Bachelors degree from Missouri State University in 2009. I finished my Masters degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in K-8 Instructional Math in 2014.
I have a 4 year old son who will soon be starting preschool. I push myself to be a better teacher because of him. I want him to get the best possible education. I feel that I have to contribute to my school in a positive manner and hopefully my enthusiasm is contagious and pushes others to change and grow. It's all for the kids!
