I have taught first and third grade for the past six years in an urban school district. I was also a long-term substitute for 7th Grade Science.
I believe that children learn best when they are offered choices. I like to present my lessons in a variety of ways and to offer my students many options for showing evidence of learning. My students are reporters, authors, mathematicians, scientists, museum curators, actors, musicians, and filmmakers (among other things). My greatest joy comes from knowing that my students actually Enjoy learning!
