Prior to getting my teaching certificate, I did a whole series of long-term substitute assignments that ranged from two weeks to three months. During those assignments, I was in charge of making all the lesson plans so I learned to rely on myself when it came to making up cool lesson plans.
I love to differentiate- not just for the benefit of the students, but so that my job isn't boring or routinely. I strive on building a class bsed on interpersonal relationships where the students feel comfortable being who they are and expressing their thoughts freely.
Nominated for Teacher of the Year every year since 2014.
I got my Bachelors degree with a double major in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Michigan Dearborn. I then got my Masters in the Art of Communication that focused on Mediation, with a focus on children and families. THEN! I pursued my teaching certificate [Pol Science and Sociology] and finished up a Social Studies Endorsement. I taught Government and Sociology for a few years and then now teaching World History and loving it.
