My love of teaching runs deep. Although I am not teaching in a live classroom except to do trainings anymore, I did teach in the public school system for 15 years, and also have 15 years experience teaching EDU courses. I have taught the following K-12 subjects: ESL Middle School: Reading Specialist: Self-contained Special Education My youngest daughter has Down syndrome, which is what led me to focus on special education. I went back to school and got my doctorate in education leadership with a focus on educating students with Down syndrome As a sidenote, my materials work really well with ESL students.
I use best practices for teaching students with an intellectual disability, and get great results. Engaging students in a conversation is where I shine. Because students with an intellectual disability need a lot of support learning new material, I create projectible e-books and engage students in conversations that lead to filing the information in long-term memory while developing speech and language.
Too many to mention....(just kidding)

I grew up in Michigan, but have lived in Arizona for many years. I am interested in vegetarian/vegan cooking, hiking, and spirituality. I love talking about education and brainstorming new ideas. Please let me know if I can help in anyway. Janet Giel-Romo Ed.D.
