Raegina was born and raised on Wiradjuri Country in regional New South Wales. She graduated from the University of Canberra and taught in Colleges and High Schools in the ACT, Japan and Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands in Central Australia. She has worked as generalist and specialist teacher, curriculum developer, acting deputy principal, researcher, teacher educator, policy officer, project manager, program coordinator and lecturer.

Raegina is a published education researcher, and a peer-reviewer for the Australian Journal of Indigenous Education. She is interested in developing teacher knowledge in curriculum and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education and challenging issues of race and racism in the dominant non-Indigenous Euro teacher identity.
