I have been teaching for about 3 years now. One thing I've always struggled with is how to effectively track student performance without spending huge amount of time. Everything that's out there are too generic and not specifically personalized and worst of all are too time consuming. I have come up with a clever way of tracking student performance whilst spending very little time doing so and most of all enjoyable. I designed matrices for math and English for AusVELS curriculum along with student reports. What's clever about these layouts is that you can compare each student's progress from term to term and also against other students in the class. And the student reports can be used to assist you with report writing and with parent-teacher conferences. I have used it for the past 2 years. Parents were able to follow me when I used the student reports. And I was able to accurately report on each student's progress.
The following quote sums up my teaching style: Much education today is monumentally ineffective. All too often we are giving young people cut flowers when we should be teaching them to grow their own plants. John W Gardner quotes

In my spare time, I like to watch movies, read, write and hang out with friends and family.
