TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have 12 years experience teaching/counseling; 11 of those with children with special needs. I have a Master's Degree in Special Education with an emphasis on Autism and Emotional Disturbance. I have a Master's Degree in School and Behavioral Psychology. I have also taught in university-based autism clinics.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My style of teaching/counseling focuses on visuals, visuals, and more visuals. I feel that visuals help to "cement" information for children. Visuals are wonderful tools to use for all children regardless of their ability level. I also believe in incorporating social skills development in all classes. Children benefit from social skills training just as they do from other core subject areas.
