TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my tenth year in education. The first six years of my career were spent as a high school English teacher in Iowa where I was able to teach 7th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades. I then spent a year as a reading specialist and am now back in the classroom as an English teacher. I am currently teaching 9th grade Honors English, 11th grade English, 11th grade Honors English, AP English and ACT Reading.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to let students take control in the classroom and I act as the facilitator of their learning. If you walk into my classroom you will hear a lot of student ideas during discussions. You will see students working in groups for solutions to problems that I have set before them. They will be working together to achieve their goals.
