TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for 13 years. Though I have been both a reading/math specialist for several years (K -5), most of my time have been in grades 4 and 5. I enjoy creating materials based on standards that integrate multiple subjects. I am rolling out each subject or focus one at a time. In my time in education, I have worked exclusively at high needs Title 1 schools. Most of my work as an educator is supporting kids in remediation and differentiation.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is to have high expectations and build relationships which facilitate learning and classroom management. Last several years, I have integrated mindful practices and high engagement lessons.

Earning in Master's in Education at the University of Puget Sound, I was a non-traditional college student. I was 26 and towing two of my own kids by my side while working part time as I worked to secure our future.
