TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been an educator in the same K-4 through 8th grade school for 25 years. In the very beginning of my career, I taught a gifted education class in the morning and a learning disabled class in the afternoon. Then I moved on to third grade, and now I am thrilled to be teaching second grade.

MY TEACHING STYLE

As all teachers do, I vary my teaching style to respond to the different learning styles of my students. I achieve this by using effective learning strategies and classroom activities. I teach all subject areas in whole group instruction, small group instruction, and one-on-one.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was awarded the Golden Apple Award by a local television station in my area. It included a video of my students and me in our classroom.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a masters plus 30 in elementary and gifted education.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

As teachers, we should instill in our students a desire to strive to be "second to none" in everything they do.
