TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My teaching experience truly began when I took a position as the Colorguard Director of MHS in Lubbock ISD during my undergraduate degree. Those early, developmental years of teaching a visual/physical art have greatly influenced my successes as a young choral director. This fall, I'll be beginning my second full year (shout out to all my December music education graduates!) as a middle school choir director, and I can't wait to continue to grow as an educator, and facilitate the growth of my students as well-rounded musicians and choral singers.

MY TEACHING STYLE

• Kinesthetics are the name of the game in my choir rehearsals • I'm all about creating well-rounded musicians, and not just parrots who sing back what they hear • Relationships are the foundation of a great education • I'm all about learning about new ideas, and then molding them for what works best for my kids, because not every student, classroom, or teacher is the same •
